Lix Bio

The three piece band “Lix” was formed shortly after the band “One Way” broke up. Essentially comprised of the same people, minus former lead singer, they where very much in sync with each other from the very beginning. Knowing exactly what they wanted and how they wanted to do it they spent nearly two years just perfecting their sound, without any big shows. Until finally they entered the studio during the summer of 2000. Having known their capabilities they where sure they would make a terrific album, this however was not the case. Having no prior studio experience they where unable to produce the musical sound in which they knew they where capable. They did however take it as a huge learning experience, and have since made several home demos of decent quality. Having drained their band fund in the studio, they realized that they had to get their music out there in a way that audiences could really hear them at their best, so they began trying to book live shows. Having little success at first they finally caught a break with a couple of local venues, and have since gathered a small following. They play regularly at both The Annex and The Algonquin Roadhouse, and have played other local shows as well. Their fans continue to wonder when they will make it big, and they are constantly asked every show why they aren’t opening for bigger bands at bigger venues. They know that despite their frustration that they just need to be patient and wait for their moment to come. Right now they are just having too much fun playing live and working on new songs. Just recently they where offered free studio time and are taking full advantage of it. They will have their second album ‘Demo Life’ out soon, and are confident in both the musical and sound quality of what will be their second release. Although they haven’t hit it big yet, they know that given the right opportunity they will, and until then they will just do what they love to do, play rock music.
